Celebrating the first 10 years and presented in a deluxe package, featuring previously unseen pictures, photos by Peter Beste, rare archival memorabilia, and an exclusive bonus track. Remastered by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Sumerlands, Kreator).

Originally released in 2016, UADA’s debut album Devoid of Light remains a remarkably focused debut—just five tracks, a little over thirty minutes—and yet a fully formed statement.

Written within months of the band's formation and already performed live in early 2015, it captures UADA at a point where everything seemed to move fast and naturally fall into place.

Emerging from Portland, Oregon, UADA drew from the spirit of the ’90s black metal wave, but approached it with a strong sense of melody and atmosphere. Devoid of Light reflects that balance in an unparalleled way.

Transition—the album’s theme—runs throughout the record, both lyrically and visually. Devoid of Light is a reflection of a specific period in time, shaped by change and uncertainty. There are no fillers, there’s no excess, there is just what needs to be there.

Over the years, the album has come to be seen as a cornerstone release, helping to reassert a more melodic and lead-driven approach to black metal within a modern context. It has also carved out its place as a definite fan favourite.

Ten years on, Devoid of Light returns in an expanded form. Remastered by Arthur Rizk, who previously handled mixing and mastering for UADA's sophomore album Cult of a Dying Sun and mastering for the acoustic album Interwoven , the material gains depth without losing the character of the original recordings.

This edition also includes previously unseen photography by Peter Beste, alongside rare archival material, expanded liner notes, and an exclusive bonus track.

A decade later, Devoid of Light still holds up—concise, immersive, and very much its own.
